Jessica “Jes” Fields is a Florida based contemporary artist who draws inspiration from her experiences in humanitarian aid, volunteering with children and psychological research. Recently accepted as a candidate for Florida State University’s Art therapy graduate program, her work pushes into journeys of healing from the perspective of cognition, emotional processing, and neuro-sensory responses.
Working primary in ceramics, drawing and painting, Jes continues her exploration into the mental health and trauma recovery. Her ceramics piece “Spilt Oils” appeared in the 2023 Florida Atlantic University Juried Student Exhibition, Transcend Tomorrow. Within the larger theme of her work, this vessel communicates the opportunity to positively adapt in the face of struggle, pain, and loss.
In 2022, she received the Ester Saylor Rothenberger Endowed Scholarship for Humanities. In 2023, she earned her BA degree in studio art with a minor in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University where she interned in the Ritter and Schmidt Art Galleries.
